Worship Artistry Original: Grace and Gratitude

A song for the thanksgiving season

I've been focusing my worship sets on gratitude and have been surprised at the lack of songs that explicitely focus on thankfulness

A number of months ago, my lovely wife taped up a floor to ceiling piece of craft paper in our kitchen and titled it "Gifts We Have".

We proceeded to fill it with all the things we are grateful for. They ranged from the incredible (Lynn is cancer free) to the mundane (legos). My favorite was my seven-year-old's "The [Seattle] Seahawks and all they do for our country". We're on our second gift board now and it's incredible what keeping a perspective of gratitude does for the soul. It's not about thinking positively but about recognizing that our lives are filled with gifts from God.

Over the past few weeks, I've been focusing my worship sets on gratitude and have been surprised at the lack of songs that explicitely focus on thankfulness. Worship songs are meant to express what God is doing in our community and when I can't find one to sing, I write one for us. So in the spirit of the season, I thought I'd share it with you. Maybe it will give your community an expression like it's given mine. It's called "Grace and Gratitude", download the chart an enjoy!

So awesome

Thanks Jason

You are person of such

You are a person of such inspiration to me, God bless you. Maybe we can jam together in heaven one day, twas you that taught me the Christian worship stuff I know anyway!

Shoot me an email.

Next time I'm passing through your town I'll bring my guitar. Seriously, thank you for the comment. It means a lot.

Great song

Great song. Very appropriate for this season and an anthem all believers should sing throughout the year. As believers, God spares us from what we really deserve. That fills my heart with grace and gratitude!

I'm thankful for you Jason. I've been pouring over this sight, especially the 101 stuff as I am a relative "newbie" to the guitar. Over the past three years God has grown me and has seen fit to place me into our worship song services at our local church. With the instruction I've learned on this sight, I've shifted my focus into song writing and have been able to write several songs over the past few months for our church to sing corporately. So, I am thankful for you Jason and all those who put in such an effort to create/maintain/update this valuable resource!

That's why we do it!

Glad to hear you are flourishing. Songs that are homegrown mean so much to a community of faith. Way to put yourself out there.

I love it!

Man you did a great job! Seriously, keep up the good work! Thank you so !much for sharing with us☺

You are oh so welcome.

I love that I have a place outside my church community to offer these.
