Biggest Goofs :-)

Loving the site and learning a lot. A few weeks ago I was really psyched to play, had practiced a ton, and during the worship set, I just totally missed a few riffs and hit some bad chords. At first I was pretty frustrated (and embarrassed), but then just had to laugh at myself.

I was wondering if you guys have any funny stories about big goofs on stage? Especially Daniel with all his world tours with the pros! Was there a time when things just didn’t go the way you had envisioned it?

Thanks again for all your work. Keep it up!

Oh...

We've got some.

Practice and Playing Nashville Numbers

I get the Nashville number system and how to transpose. Is there a fretboard strategy and practice technique to get better at transitioning on the fly?

Also, when's the APP coming around?

thanks,

Billy

Browsing for songs

So here I am browsing for a song to listen to......lets just say I am up to page 21.
When I use the back arrow to continue looking for another song, I am returned all the way back to page 1.

What am I doing wrong?

Have been a member for about 6 months. Love it!!

Yeah that's super annoying

We are beta testing our new dashboard, search and mobile platform which will fix a lot of those frustrations. In the meantime, your best bet is to use the "browse song lessons" link in the footer of the website. Then you can scroll til you're hearts content.

Song Selection: Can I please God and the congregation?

I am a new worship leader, and I have a lot to learn. This site has helped so much!!

I would love an article or podcast on song selection. In the first six months of my job, I've quickly found that there is no way to please the whole congregation with song selection, because there's so many tastes and preferences. Instead, what I do desire is to honor God with my song selection and help create a repertoire of music that the congregation can know and love and worship to without distractions. Any tips?

Looking for drum tutorial for the song "Holy is the Lord God Almighty" by Chris Tomlin. Do you have that available? Please advise, thank you in advance.

We've got it for the whole band.

Can't please everyone, just got to please God

Having an age diversified congregation, a comment I have heard from an "older" member is that our "new" songs are so repetitive, like the old time choruses, "they have no substance."
And to be truthful some of the more popular songs do seem to have that flavor, one verse, chorus, maybe a bridge and each part, even though building, is sung over and over. I notice this not so much while playing as when I'm not playing and see the words on our screen. I guess some people like a song that is a musical story. So our pastor, who selects the songs, tries to mix it up to try and satisfy most everyone with a blended play list. Do you think a lot of the worship songs that are popular in todays emerging churches are repetitive?

Always enjoy your pod-casts and lessons (at least the one's we do).
