Empress Tape Delay Demo and Tutorial

Looking for a tape delay that doesn't require actual tape? Check out the Empress Effects Tape Delay and see if it's got what you need.

Overall Thoughts

The Empress Effects Tape Delay is a clean delay with switches that make it easy to give your delays a little bit of character. Unfortunately, I have to stress the word little. Having switches rather than dials for wow, flutter and modulation often left me wanting and even at it's most extreme settings of "vintage" tape and "lots" of modulation, I felt like I couldn't get as extreme as I wanted to. Furthermore I thought the delay ratios were needlessly confusing. Why not just go quarter, eight, dotted eight, etc? That being said, the tones were pristine and for more basic sounds it could be a good fit. You can hear this delay in action in the following lessons. Not a Worship Artistry member?
