Building a Worship Leader Collective with Jenni Mcgrew

Podcast Episode #183

Common themes being discussed by worship leaders in churches regardless of their size, growing community, and listening to the Lord are just a few of the topics covered on this week's podcast with Jenni Mcgrew.

On starting Worship Leaders Collective

It started out of the heart to help the everyday worship leader. I found myself living Sunday to Sunday at a larger church and remembering of times in a smaller church and the community there. I found myself a bit frustrated, knowing there was probably a way to help people. So with WLCO, we're able to help each other. We're all serving the same vision.

We were created to be in the community. We are unable to grow in isolation. We are meant to be together not just on the mountaintops but in the valleys too.

On common themes and issues that come up amongst different churches

Still seeing a lot of relational issues coming up from the COVID season. Many churches, small or big, are struggling to get a team back together.

You can always desire and want more, wishing to have something you don't. But we need to use what we have, what's in front of us. The grass is greenest where it's watered. Just lift whatever you have to the Lord and trust that he'll multiply it.

On learning to listen

As we listen to the Lord we can attune and trains ourselves to hear that still small voice. So that our doings flow out of our beings, that we're training ourselves to intentionally throughout the day to more clearly hear the Lord.
