Using Fuzz in Worship Featuring the Z.Vex Fuzz Factory

If you're going to teach about fuzz, you might as well start with the best: the Zvex Fuzz Factory. It can mimic plenty of classic tones but it really is a classic in its own right.

This tutorial starts with a bunch of knob tweaking to show what the pedal can do but around the 5 minute mark we start setting tones and using them in modern worship songs by Phil WickhamBethel MusicElevation and Desperation Band. I think you're going to dig it.

While the Fuzz Factory fits in well with the tunes I selected, this pedal can do plenty more and I felt I wouldn't be doing it justice if I didn't offer further demos.  I find a lot of videos feature the same sounds so I personally selected these because they each offer additional tips.

Learn it here from Mr. Vex himself:

You can skip most of this one but the first minute gives some tech specs and around the 4:30 mark it features a few interesting settings.

This one gets pretty crazy around the 50 second mark and just keeps on going.

Back when I played a ton of lead I drooled over this pedal nearly everyday but it only came hand-painted and ran over $300, which was too much for my poor musician budget. With the Vexter Series fuzz pedal, though, it's much more reasonable and still has the same punch.

This pedal is versatile and can ba used to play some of the best fuzz pedal songs you can think of. If you've got the cash, I'd just go ahead and buy it. You won't be sorry.

Crazy Pedal

i picked one of these up used for $75 which is a steal...uh I mean a bargain. I've found some really cool sounds out of this. I does take awhile to get the hang of it and I wouldn't start turning knobs during a performance...easy to get lost with this one but I wont be taking it off my board. I'm sure surprised to see it being reviewed.

$75!!!!???

The Lord has blessed you, my friend. "Thou shalt not covet, Jason." Seriously one of the coolest pedals I've ever played with. It's on the board of pretty much every awesome guitarist out there.
