Hymn Refresh: Be Thou My Vision
An acoustic rendition of a classic hymn.
This take uses a capo but only covers 5 strings but can be played just fine without it.
I kept the tabs pretty basic. I vary the ending on the intro everytime but the second bar covers whenever I make a chord change. If you're looking for a more uptempo version of the song check out Rend Collective's version.

Plus it's just a beautiful song with great theological content. I've been feeling inspired lately to bring more hymns back into our song pool at our church, and the response has been very good. I'm absolutely going to bring this rendition into rotation. Thanks again, Jason!
That's awesome!

Jason, would this be a good song to use as a step-up? I've been playing for about 16 years, but started pretty late in life (40). I play on our worship team three times a week, but for many years I was nothing but a basic strummer. It's only been in the past few years that I've broken out of what I call "the 4-fret trap" and began playing up the neck. Paul Baloche is my favorite writer/singer, and I have successfully mastered many of his songs, including more difficult ones like "Glorious" and "Offering", and I'm working on "Your Name" and a few others. I can play chords all over the neck, but I struggle a lot when it comes to trying to add rhythmic fills to my strumming. I know scales, but I just don't know how to apply them in real time. Your thoughts?
Absolutely

It's a good fit because there are riffs that follow the melody. Here's another great post that works well in tandem with this one: https://worshipartistry.com/greenroom/playing-tips/riffing-for-the-weekend

Thank you very much, very cool arrangement and tuning, yet keeping it simple not to ruin the melody. I’m impressed
