Top Worship Songs for Thanksgiving

Our favorite worship songs to bring your heart in line with the season.

Standing before an almighty God who gave His own life to save us gives us every reason to be thankful. As we live out this season and prepare for Advent, I hope these songs keep your heart on Christ. There are even more Thanksgiving worship songs to choose from in our collection.

If you need more ideas for your setlists this season, view this list from CCLI.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Beginning To End) - One Sonic Society

"Summer and winter and springtime and harvest

Sun, moon and stars in their courses above

Join with all nature in manifold witness

To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love"

Not only does God’s faithfulness put us in default posture of gratitude but this great hymn’s lyrics invoke the season with “harvest” being the standout. Check out One Sonic Society’s version featuring Mike Weaver that adds a simple and relevant chorus to the age old standard.

Goodness of God - Bethel Music

"From the moment that I wake up until I lay my head

I will sing of the goodness of God"

Bethel’s foray into country strikes the right tone for this song. Not over the top but a feel good anthem that keeps the focus on the work of Christ. Lot’s of great lead guitar work that will have you thankful we have a tutorial for it.

Blessed Be Your Name - Matt Redman

"Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering

Though there’s pain in the offering Blessed be Your name"

Sometimes the table is overflowing with food, joy and laughter while others it’s bare, lonely and sorrowful. Matt Redman’s “Blessed Be Your Name” recognizes that God is good regardless of our circumstances.

O Great is Our God - The Sing Team

"Oh Great is our God so we should worship greatly

No song is too loud   No orchestra to stately

To hail the majesty of our King so lift Your voices loud as we sing"

This song is one of our favorite ones on Worship Artistry. It’s a blast to sing and the jubilation of the lyrics is matched by the band’s performance. Gather everyone around the piano and bust this one out at the top of your lungs.

Great Are You Lord - All Sons And Daughters

"It’s Your breath in our lungs

So we pour out our praise   We pour out our praise"

This song is so simple and so good. It starts with a statement of what God does and the chorus responds with praise and thanksgiving. The bridge is a great build moment and let's the congregation crank it up.

All The People Said Amen - Matt Maher

"Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends

All the people said Amen"

Matt Maher’s uptempo tune is another great sing along that puts the focus on God’s goodness and the beauty of the Kingdom. In a time when we need unity this song gives us the language to sing about it.

Forever - Chris Tomlin

"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good

His love endures forever"

This is one of those cozy classics that never gets old. It's also one of the few songs that is a direct quote from scripture that really is singable. You can also sing it as a call and response with the worship leader singing the first line and the congregation responding with "His love endures forever".

10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) - Matt Redman

"For all Your goodness I will keep on singing..."

Listing reasons why God is good easily leads to gratitude. You can also take some time to meditate on reasons to be thankful with church members speaking out words of thanks. The simple and classic instrumentation also fits the vibe of Autumn.

Hallelujah For The Cross - Chris McClarney

"Hallelujah, Thank You Jesus

I was a prisoner now I’m not

With Your blood You bought my freedom

Hallelujah for the cross"

Chris McClarney has a lot of reasons to be thankful, not the least of which is he gets to play with our bass teacher Daniel Ornellas all the time. Of course, salvation is another great reason to be thankful and this song expresses it so well.

Blessed Assurance - Elevation Worship

"This is my story this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long"

It’s all our stories and bringing us back to our testimony will always spark gratitude. This particular version ads a beautiful bridge that expresses gratitude that adds that little extra bit.
